NOTE: BEFORE TOUCHING YOUR CAR, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES

Basic Installation Instructions

1. Before working on your car, be sure to disconnect your battery. Allow adequate time for cooling.

2. Always use jack stands when working under your vehicle.

3. Begin by using penetrating oil to soak all bolts on your stock exhaust manifold, heat shield, and down pipe.

4. Unplug O2 sensor. Remove heat shield. Remove stock manifold and down pipe.

5. Remove the stock EGR tube. Install Hotshot Performance Header. Place it onto the manifold studs, and snug a few bolts to hold it in place. Do not tighten any bolts until the extension pipe is installed and is lined up with the converter, the converter bolts are in place, and the EGR tube is started into its proper fitting on the header. Install the nuts and bolts to hold the primary - secondary flange together. Be sure to install the gasket with the O-rings up.

6. Install the O2 Sensors into their corresponding fittings. Be sure to reconnect the O2 sensors to their connections on the wiring harness.

7. Once you have all the bolts in place, start on the head and tighten the bolts in small increments, working from the center to the outer edges of the flange. This will ensure a leak free seal.

8. Tighten the three primary-secondary bolts in the same manner to evenly seat the copper gasket. Tighten the converter bolts.

9. In order for the ECU to function properly, and to avoid getting a “Check Engine” light, you will need to re-reoute the bottom O2 Sensors to read AFTER the secondary cat. 2 Fittings have been provided on the Hotshot Header secondary pipes to install the O2 sensors into temporarily. You will need to have the 2 extra O2 fittings(supplied) welded on your exhaust system AFTER the Secondary cat, and the O2 harness wires extended to reach the new fittings. You can then use the plugs (also supplied) to plug the fittings on the secondary that are not used any more.

10. Check everything to be sure it's tight, and reconnect your battery.

11. Lower car from jack stands. Before starting for the first time, be sure to wipe the header clean from any grease or fingerprints with a wet rag and some mild detergent. This will prevent fingerprints from permanently staining the finish of your header.

12. Start your engine, and let it idle to normal operating temperature, to allow you ECU to adjust to the header, and also allows the header to heat up and seat to the head, and the extension tube to seal to the cat. Check for leaks. Allow the engine to cool and re-check the tightness of all bolts.
