Basic Installation Instructions

Installation:

1. Before working on your 240SX, be sure to disconnect your battery. Allow adequate time for cooling.
2. Always use jack stands when working under your vehicle.
3. Begin by using penetrating oil to soak all bolts on your stock exhaust manifold, heat shield, and down pipe.
4. Unplug O2 sensor. Remove heat shield. Loosen EGR fitting on rear of manifold, but do not remove it yet, as you will bend the tube.
5. Remove stock manifold and down pipe. Remove EGR tube from header. If you are planning on re-using the stock gaskets, make sure that they are clean, and free of any debris or damage.
6. Install Hotshot Performance Header from above the engine, working down. Hold it with the collector pointing straight down, and it will slip easily between the steering linkage. Place it onto the manifold studs, and snug a few bolts to hold it in place. Do not tighten any bolts until the the converter bolts are in place, and the EGR tube is started into its proper fitting on the header.
7. Install the O2 Sensor into its corresponding fittings. Be sure to reconnect the O2 sensor to it's connection on the wiring harness.
8. Extend the Rear O2 sensor wires using supplied kit, be sure to cut and splice wires one by one, so you don’t get mixed up by the colors. The Supplied O2 fitting needs to be installed AFTER the second cat (Which you will have to have installed) in order for the rearO2 sensor to function properly.
9. Once you have all the bolts in place, start on the head and tighten the bolts in small increments, working from the center to the outer edges of the flange. This will ensure a leak free seal.
10. Tighten the 2 converter bolts.
11. Check everything to be sure it's tight, and reconnect your battery.
12. Lower car from jack stands. Before starting for the first time, be sure to wipe the header clean from any grease or fingerprints with a wet rag and some mild detergent. This will prevent fingerprints from permanently staining the finish of your header.
13. Start your engine, and let it idle to normal operating temperature, to allow you ECU to adjust to the header, and also allows the header to heat up and seat to the head, and the extension tube to seal to the cat.. Allow the engine to cool and re-check the tightness of all bolts.

14. Fill and mail the enclosed warranty card in order to activate your warranty.
