Silverfish
Agile, adaptable silverfish get their name from their silver-blue color and antennae that move like fish. About ½ to 1 inch long, these wingless, nocturnal pests seek out moist, humid hiding spots like basements, attics and bathrooms. They move very quickly and avoid light, making it easy for them to avoid detection for some time. Silverfish can live up to a year without eating; they typically feed on carbohydrates and sugars but also eat paper, book bindings, wallpaper and clothing, making them destructive in large numbers. Controlling humidity in your home and avoiding clutter can help you avoid a silverfish infestation.
